Ph D. Student at IDEA Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona |
The program is designed to be completed in one academic year.
During the fall term, students take economic theory and applied courses, in which they develop the analytical, quantitative and programming skills necessary for the winter term's courses. During the spring term, students write a master's thesis on a selected topic.
The aim of the program is to provide a sound understanding of economics and its applications.
Students in the program learn empirical modes of inquiry and quantitative methods, and how to apply these to investigate economic issues. After completing the program of study, graduates will have the knowledge and skills to conduct independent analyses for governments and private institutions, or will be well trained to pursue a PhD in economics. All classes in the master's program are in English.

"This Master in Economics is a unique opportunity for those who enjoy Economics and also for those who wish to learn more about it. Both the contents of the Master and the professors taking care of the program made it possible for me to develop not only on the professional basis, but also on the personal side. A chance of exploring Economics that nobody should forgo."
Ainara González de San Román
"The only downside to this Master is the fact that you won't have enough time to hang out more with the teachers -- some of the finest people I ever met teach this course and not only are they brilliant and true experts on the subject, they are also very nice and ready to help you any time you ask for help. So, take the opportunity to learn more by exploiting these fine people's expertise!"
